Affirmative Action

The Division of Equity, Diversity and Inclusion mission is to ensure that all protected classes are afforded equal employment opportunities per Rhode Island General Law. The purpose of affirmative action is to ensure equal employment opportunities for applicants and employees. It is based on the premise that, absent discrimination, over time the state’s workforce generally will reflect the demographics of the qualified available workforce in RI.
