Alison Steere said that certification as a Women Business Enterprise (WBE) through the RI Division of Equity, Diversity and Inclusion has led to many opportunities for her business.

Steere is the CEO and co-owner of Warwick-based Steere Engineering. Inc., an engineering company her mother, Patricia, launched as a one-woman company in 2010. After Steere earned bachelor and master engineering degrees from URI, she worked in the engineering industry before joining Steere Engineering in 2018.

Steere Engineering, Inc. is a WBE and Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) multi-disciplined civil engineering firm that offers bridge, structural, highway, traffic, NBIS bridge inspection and construction support services.

“As a certified WBE/DBE we are approached by many larger firms wanting to do business with us,” said Steere. “It is such a benefit to our business, since companies are always looking to work with good WBEs and DBEs.”
