Contract Compliance

The state Equal Opportunity Office enforces Rhone Island General Law 28-5.1-10, We ensure any vendor doing business with the State of Rhode Island complies with state regulations, including adherence to affirmative action provisions and those requiring vendors to be Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) employers. This law and regulations protect employees and job applicants against employment discrimination when it involves unfair treatment because of race, color, religion, sex (including pregnancy, gender identity and sexual orientation), national origin, age (40 or older), or disability.

We also ensure that vendors who meet the threshold of 50 employees and $50,000 or more in government contracts is required to have an executed Affirmative Action Plan (AAP). These plans are reviewed by the State Equal Opportunity Office to ensure all necessary compliance measures are implemented and that each vendor has been assigned an EEO officer.

Vendors complete the 4-page Contract Compliance Report and Certificate of Compliance and attach all necessary documentation before moving forward with the bidding process. Once completed, please forward forms, and required documentation to: eoo.compliance@doa.ri.gov

Any questions on contract compliance can be emailed to: eoo.compliance@doa.ri.gov
